DANA MCKEE After I quite smoking, I wanted to make a change in my life and starting taking care of myself. I got a gym membership and started working out. I wanted to look like the girls on the cover of oxygen where the they are muscular, toned and just look incredibly fit. I realized I would need some help in order to have the look I wanted. I began working out with Adela (at that time, Ms. 3x Olympia champion) two times a week and instantly became addicted to the gym. I idolized Adela and had a great deal of respect for her after all she has accomplished by herself. After hanging out with her, it was only natural that I wanted to go to a show and see what goes on and what they were all about. I was hooked!!! It was amazing to see how great these girls looked. It was not longer I decided I wanted to compete in a show. Adela was very supportive and agreed to take me on as a full time client. She did everything from training me, setting up my diets, give me posing lessons, picking out the right suit, makeup advice and most importantly gave me motivation along the way. I competed in my first show in April of 2009, The Ronnie Coleman show, and placed 1st place in my class! It only got better from there! The feeling I got from being on that stage and feeling a great deal of accomplishment was worth everything I went through. I owe so much to Adela. I will continue to work with her to thrive to be the best. My next goal is to eventually earn my pro card and I have learned from Adela that time, hard work and dedication and I can do whatever I put my mind to!
