Emily Carey was born and raised in the small town of Los Alamos, NM. She grew up an active child participating in gymnastics and dance. She played multiple team sports and continued soccer throughout college.

Highly career driven, Emily focused on educational goals and earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2005 from the University of New Mexico. While working full time as a Registered Nurse at a Children’s Hospital, she attended graduate school at Arizona State University; graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009 with a Masters of Science in Nursing specializing in Neonatology.

It was during graduate school that Emily first stepped into a gym and started lifting weights. Almost immediately Emily found the gym to be her favorite place. The combination of her new found love for workouts and advanced training in health sparked an interest in the fitness industry. In 2009 Emily competed in her first NPC Bikini show winning her class and the Overall title and was instantly hooked.

In 2010 Emily relocated to Austin, TX to take her dream job also started training with Fitness Olympia Champion Adela Garcia.

Emily has been training with Adela since August 2010 and is looking forward to the 2011 Season as a member of the O.F.F. Challenge Team.
